Measurement Guide
Accurate Angle Measurement for Professionals and Personal Use
Welcome to Angulus! This guide provides step-by-step instructions to help you measure angles accurately in various use cases, along with best practices for achieving precise results.
Getting Started
How to Measure an Angle from an Image
1. Open Angulus and import an image or capture a new one.
2. Tap on the screen to place two or three points to define the angle. Adjust points as needed by dragging them to the correct location.
3. Annotate if needed.
4. Save or share your measurement if needed.
Best Practices for Accuracy:
Ensure the object is fully visible in the image.
Keep the camera parallel to the surface to minimize distortion.
Use a well-lit environment for clearer image analysis.
Measuring Joint Angles (Knee, Elbow, Fingers, etc.)
How to Measure Knee Bend Angle
1. Position the camera side-on to the knee for the most accurate measurement.
2. If measuring your own knee, use a mirror to capture a side-view image.
3. Take an image with the leg bent and another with the leg extended.
4. Use Angulus to overlay these images (if using the iPhone AI Camera version).
5. Mark three points: hip, knee, and ankle, or thigh, knee, and shin, to measure the angle.
Tips:
Try to align the camera with the knee’s plane to avoid perspective errors.
If using a mirror, stand directly in front to reduce distortion.
Keep the leg at a consistent distance in both images when overlaying.
Using AI Camera for Side-by-Side Motion Comparison (iOS Only)
1. Open the AI Camera Mode in Angulus.
2. Capture an image of the initial position (e.g., straight leg).
3. Capture an image of the final position (e.g., bent leg).
4. The app will overlay the images for easier angle measurement.
5. Use the measurement tool to analyze changes in movement.
Ideal for:
Comparing joint flexion and extension in rehabilitation tracking.
Assessing posture changes between different stances.
